Letter From The Board

Welcome to CANDORA, we are People Helping People Make a Difference!

Whether you are walking in our door or visiting us on the Web you are always welcome. We are very anxious for you to look through our site and get to know what we at CANDORA do for your community.

The board of directors is a diverse group of volunteers from all over the city. Our goals include ensuring that the programs at CANDORA are responsive to the community and that the staff have the tools they need to run those programs. We also oversee budgets and set policy for staff.

Our biggest goal is to maintain the spirit and philosophy of CANDORA. It is our belief that the best way to make things better in our community and in the lives of individuals is by giving an example. We hire staff that has connections to Rundle and Abbotsfield, or people who have experienced the same challenges and triumphs as participants in our programs.

We hope to end the isolation of poverty and to bring together people who can help each other. People who can show one another the way they learned to make it through hard times and to come out with a desire to help others understand and grow.

CANDORA is full of opportunities to learn, to change and to help, whether you are in a program, working with participants, or sitting on the board. If you have something to learn, a need to change or desire to help, please volunteer at one of our programs or for our board.

Thank you,

Deb DeVleming, Chair

Board of Directors
